Our first day of travel to the Midwest went great – what seemed like door to door service. Larry showed up promptly at 7 and whisked us to John Wayne with an hour to spare after security (yes Larry you were of course right). Then we walk off the plane and to the curb and who pulled up minutes later but Sara’s sister with Emily there to greet us.
Then we were on our way to some Fish Bliss at a local place on Milwaukee on the West side – in let us say a questionably safe neighborhood.
The place for tonights Fish Bliss was Mc Bob’s on near 52nd and North in Milwaukee. George was already standing outside Bob’s on the street waiting for us. Man this place looks like it has some history in it! Imagine a bar when you walk in
and the smell of old smoke and music playing loud. We walked down the bar to an area where one of the bartenders/waiters was pushing together a bunch of small tables and there was Sarah and John checking out the menu and drinking Guiness.
We all got started with some drinks, ordered and not long into catching up the fish fry had begun – here is my plate of fish, potato pancakes marble bread and applesauce …such a mouth watering tradition here in Wisconsin.
It was a great treat getting to catch up with everyone right off the plane and we all had fun.
