We start our Caribbean trip in Florida where we land in Miami and drive in a rainstorm to Sara’s parents winter place in New Smyrna. It is a long drive so we get in late and go to sleep.
The next morning we went for a walk to town. These shuffleboard courts are right down the street and are amazing. A membership is about 15.00 per year, totally great deal ;).
We also walked down by the ocean and the boardwalk, it was a windy day but sunny and amazing.
For dinner we went to a cool outdoor cafe called the Third Wave and had pizza. It was fun hanging outside and spending time with Roland and Veronica.
We only had the day to spend in New Smyrna and we didn’t want to miss our flight out of Miami to the Caribbean so we drove to Hollywood and spent the night in the “comfort” of our rental car. Yes!, it did look that eerie when the fog rolled into the Denny’s parking lot.
We made our flight in the morning to Saint Maarten and caught a cab to the pier to catch our ship.
There wasn’t much happening on the pier so we took a walk and then boarded the ship.
Once on board we were taken to our cabin and settled in. The bunk beds were comfortable and the right size to hold you in when the ship was rocking.
I large head for the size of our room and with the bonus of hot water shower after coming back from a day of playing in the water.
The main dining room is comfortable and easy to get to from our cabin.
and then it was up to the main deck to meet the captain and the crew.
As we set sail from the Harbor the ship looked beautiful.
We sailed to 6 northern islands in the Caribbean and most we had not been too besides St Maarten.

I have to sit this day out because I was sick to my stomach in bed. Sara went to the island to play.

After some time on the beach it was time to take a trip to Stingray Alley. This is a place where you get to see and get close and personal with a ton of Stingrays. So we caught a bus and we were off…

Just beyond the end of the runway is a beach and everyone gathers there to watch the big jets come in. They come in so low over the beach it feels like they are going to land on you..
Sad to leave but we will be back to play in the beautiful waters again…
