2007 Chrismas Brag Letter

Oh what fun it is to brag about all the good things that came to us this year. Isn’t that how most of these letters go? It is only because we don’t want to bore you with the messy insignificant things that didn’t go as well as we would have liked. We are so very blessed with so many opportunities and wonderful friends and family who know us and love us anyway. (That’s you we hope.)

After not having anyone visit our sunny southern California home in years, we had a slew of visitors this year. First were Karl and Colleen who liked it so much that they are moving out here! It will be the first time that the twins will be in the same time zone since I’ve known them. Welcome Karl and Colleen.

Then it was my two sisters and newest niece in July. We had a blast being tourists again and Rachael, my 5 month old niece was such a charmer. According to Anne, the organizer, this will be an annual event. My parents were out in August to the house with no TV. They really enjoyed the trip, but I think they tired of us saying, “This is a great place to run, race, bike, swim or rollerblade.”

Our good friend Cate came for a visit in October for the Challenged Athletes’ Race in San Diego. This is a race for people with amputations or spinal cord injuries to compete in a 1.2 mile swim in La Jolla Cove, hilly 56 mile bike ride and a 13.2 mile run with the adaptive equipment they need funded in part by the race. (These guys are complete studs!) This is the race that wasn’t to be this year because of the terrible fires in southern California, but we made the best of Cate’s visit to hang out with friends and celebrate her recovery from a bike crash that almost made her a challenged athlete herself! Go Cate.

This year I finally got my real estate license and found a great office to work out of on a part time basis. Real estate has been an interest of ours for so long and it’s a great way to help our friends and ourselves with real estate products. We are still on plan to buy one house a year so this year was Mississippi!

Kari continues to keep up with technology. Our latest purchase was for a Give One/Get One Laptop promotion to provide a lap top for all kids in 3rd world countries. This allows them to get an education via the World Wide Web instead of books. Wow! These laptops are indestructible. They bake them in ovens, drop them from 15+ feet and otherwise try to destroy them. My brother Steve also bought one, so his 3 kids with this laptop will be the ultimate test!

Our internet Business, Team, is developing exactly as we had planed. We are with a great group of people and learning so much. February will bring even more and better developments, so stay posted.

We wish you a wonderful, warm Christmas and a beautiful New Year.
