For the last 30 weeks Sara and I have been attending church counseling training every Thursday night at Saddleback Church with Pastor Bob Baker (seen below). When we started we thought, how are we going to make it through 90 hours of training, which seems like a lot until you start going through the information and you realize out how much there is to learn. During our training we studied the biblical principles behind Parenting, Marriage, Communication, Roles and many other relationship topics.
Saddleback Churches senior pastor Rick Warren spoke to the group to open the night and told us that Saddleback Counselors did 55,000 hours of counseling in 2009 and that people are really in need in Orange County.
We are now putting in our applications to be Church Counselors; and hope to be chosen to serve, however if we don’t we have this awesome information to apply to our own marriage :).
