Man it seems like a long time since I wrote a post about doing a triathlon, but here it is Sara and I both did the Desert Triathlon and it is a great race.

The day started early in the Desert when the sun was just barely coming up over the mountains in the parking lot…

After unloading the car it was off to the transition area to rack our bikes.. check out the awesome rocky cliffs that surrounded this area by the lake…

Sara and I setup our transition area’s with our bikes and nutrition and headed off to get body marked…and check out the water

The water was like glass in the morning with just the floating course boueys floating out there. The course was not complicated just a out and back and in… for about a mile.

We both had a great race..no issues in the swim except needing some open water swimming practice (Kari), the bike was flat and fast 24 miles, the run was two laps around the lake for a 10k. Sara did great with a 4 place finish in her age group and I place in the 20’s in my age group. Not bad for a lengthy time off and some injuries in between.

If you ever are in the area for the race we would recommend Ciro’s for a carbo feed. Great food at very good prices… We were very thankful for a great safe race and a good meal…
