Earthquake Easter

We started our Easter weekend on Saturday volunteering as Ushers at Anaheim Stadium for the Saddleback Church Easter service. We arrived early and met with other users under the big A sign in the Stadium parking lot and had a light bag lunch.

We then went into the stadium and there were tons of people getting in line to receive their name lanyards and offering buckets it was amazing the extremely organized. We waited in line and got the exact section – left of home plate that we wanted.

We went to our section and waited to get instructions from our head usher and met some of the other people volunteering and we ran into Sara S from Kari’s work. She was working in another section and it was great to get caught up on all the things new in her life. Look at these smiling Saras – those buckets in Sara’s hand are not from KFC chicken they are the offering baskets – HA!

Rick spoke about three people that Jesus spoke to after his resurrection on Easter and the hope he was in their lives and our lives.

Sunday morning Sara and I were doing stuff around the house and the room began to shake back and forth very smoothly. The earthquake started moving the drapes gently at first and then more violently. We both took cover and watched as the room shook for about a minute.

That night we went to the Davidsons for Easter dinner and because of the earthquake their power was out. These guys did it all in stride with Easter dinner warming on the grill outside and candlelight in the dining room. One to remember for the ambiance and the awesome food.
