It was a rainy Saturday in Southern Cal with Sara’s roommate from Milwaukee and her daughter Inga so we decided to get out of the house, first stop was coffee for Sarah and the bookstore while we waited for more things to open in the morning. Sara and I browsed books with Stanley.
He found Where the Wild Thing Are book and Sara had to grab onto him before the creatures inside took him in; which is easy when you are as thin as him.
After that encounter Flat asked if he could meet the security guard because he wanted to find out more about Law Enforcement, especially the stuff that you can’t read about in books. The security guard agreed but asked to remain anonymous (see the face was left out). Flat held his hands behind his back to simulate going into custody – Ha!
and go to the Discovery Science Center. The rain was coming down but we didn’t care because there was tons of stuff to see and learn inside. Before going in we stopped to see a huge replica of the Discovery space shuttle very cool.
The first floor was all about earthquakes and gravity and weather so we started exploring. There was a cool climbing wall that Inga and Stanley both climbed. There was also this cool Dinosaur play area outside, where you could walk through the belly of a Brontosaurus and check out other dino fossils. Check out Sara and Flat in the belly
We then moved upstairs to the hockey and sport exhibits where Inga looked like a mean goalie in her skirt and helmet. Inga and Flat tried on the goalie pad after to take a break, man there are huge..
