I lost count of how many small towns and farms we saw today on our friends and family tour of Southern Wisconsin. First it was a trip to Sheboygan for some family business and then off to Appleton to visit Sara’s best friend from High School Linda who just moved into a new house. It was great to see her and meet her boyfriend, however we were sorry to see her laid up with a back injury. She is tough and will be back on her feet in no time with treating it well.
Next it was though the corn fields once more South to Manitowoc to meet up with our friends Renee and Chris at their land right on Lake Michigan. Right now they have their motor home about 100 feet from the edge of their small hill down to the waters edge
Chris then pushed the Kayaks over the edge and lowered them to the waters edge as we hiked down – and fell a few times! The water was unlike I remember Lake Michigan warm and inviting. There were some waves to through us around but who cares if you get wet when the weather is great and the water warm.
After Kayaking we had a great dinner outside by the firepit with Chris and Renee and of course had Smores! for desert – what a treat. To top off the night we saw the moon rise from the horizon into the sky which was spectacular in this dark sky.
