When we first starting planning for the Gilles 50th Wedding Anniversary a year ago I am not sure we were prepared for the fun, entertainment, closeness and memories this was has brought to all of us that were involved. Here are some hightlights from the group:
- Flurry of Nuns and Steve preparing food.
- First rate sound system from Stevo.
- Dedicated driver Driod making the red-eye drive back and forth from Madison/work to attend.
- More costume changes than a Shakespere Tragedy.
- Music madness with Ipods, old tapes, and cd to coordinate.
- Downloading songs that many of us have never heard of, let alone know who sang.
- Practicing in the Gilles homestead living room – more fun than on the stage.
- Seeing old family and friends that we all love to talk to in person.
- Live up the characters we played – (hard in the case of “Dancing Dewey”).
- Camping out in the Gilles back “fourty”.
- Wondering what the laud “Howl” was the second night in the tent.
We had a blast being involved in the first production on Stage by the yet undiscovered playwright Veronica Gilles and honored to be on the stage with such a prestegious cast.
