Seven Sisters is a ride in OC with seven very challenging hills. I have wanted to do this ride for years, so when Sara asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday this year I said lets do it!
My bud Larry send out the request and this morning a group of friends and i headed out from Ocean Ranch parking lot to get it done.
Here is the ride as posted on Strava… Not a ton of mileage but mostly climbing along the way…
We took picture before each of the 7 hill climbs here they are in a row…you be the judge do we get more tired as we go?
Number 1 – Highland
Number 2 – Pacific Island Drive (One Way)
Number 3 – Pacific Island Drive (Other Way)
Number 4 – Nyes Place
Nyes is one to note because the bottom of the climb is so steep that if you lean back too much your front wheel will lift off the pavement..
Number 5 – Bluebird Canyon
The consensus from the group is that this was the hardest climb of the 7. It was both longer and continually steeper than the rest.
Number 6 – Thalia
Number 7 – Park
We were all happy to be done climbing and Larry knew this short cut over to the top of the world so we followed him over and had this view before our pedal home…yup that is ocean in the background.
Back at the cars we got out the recovery chocolate milk….
and then had some food together to talk about the ride. Everyone had a good morning. I am thankful to have such great friends to come out and do a crazy morning ride to celebrate my B-Day.
