Idaho Adventure Land – River Rafting

posted in: Travel, Uncategorized | 0

This was our first day rafting on the Salmon River and we were excited to get started; luckily Miriam and Dale have been doing this for over a Decade so were are in good hands.

We put the raft in at Island Bar on the Salmon River

There are people all along the Salmon river with these river mining rigs near the shore. They are dreging a small part of the river to sift through and find gold.

Dale took over for all of the rapids and we all tried to do our part rowing  when the river was slow and calm. The raft is super responsive and fun to move around…

That bride ahead is called Time Zone Bridge; it separates Mountain time from Pacific time and there are some sweet rapids leading right up to them. The pictures below are us heading into them and through them and there is also video of us going all the way…. really fun

Here is a video of our rafting adventure down the rapids of the Salmon river. Thanks to Dale for making it exciting and safe.

Check out the Rafting Video….

After lots of fun Mimi pulled the raft over to a nice beach were we had something to eat and to spend a short time out of the hot sun…

You never know how great watermellon tastes until you have it on your own beach, alone on the river – man does it taste good…

As they say, “there are no bad days on the river” and this certainly qualified as an awesome day under the sun and in the rapids…
