Memorial Day House Project – New Sink Hardware

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Long weekends are good for unwinding and getting done those house projects you never seem to have time for during the week.

First it was the cold water faucet in my sink that was leaking so I turned off the cold and just used the hot. Then about 3 weeks ago Sara’s cold had the same problem so we had no cold sink water in our master bathroom – quite funny when you think about it 🙂

So we broke down this weekend and went to Lowes to pick out some new ones.

I know what you are thinking…you guys are cheap! so why didn’t you just repair the ones you have. Well good one because we tried it, but the faucets are original for our place and we couldn’t find the correct hardware to replace the inside pieces that had worn out.

So we had no problem finding a great replacement for the old faucets, now for getting the old hardware off and the new ones on…

If you ever ask Sara plumbing is my least favorite thing, I will take electrical over plumbing any day, but this didn’t seem too difficult. The hardest part ended up being laying on my back under the sink for prolonged periods of time to reach up and get the bolts off of the fixtures. About 4 hours later both sinks were done and no …”What is that leftover part for?” converstations 🙂

The new faucets look great and yes we now have cold water again.
