It was our second year having fun at the San Clemente Ocean festival and man was it ever a full day of total fun and competition. This is the best event because first it is at the beach and second because you pay one fee and get to compete in as many events as you want. San Clemente pier is only about a 15 min drive from our house so it a joy to travel. Sara started with the aquathon, which is a 1 mile ocean swim and a 3.1 mile beach run – I joined her for the beach run. Second we both did the open 1 mile ocean swim. By this time the waves were about 5-6 feet high and kicking our butts to get out through, and we did it and had a great time. Next year we totally want more friend to come and share the fun.
