Tosafest is one of the last local outdoor parties of the season and of course they have a 5k run; however the beauty of this one is that is begins just blocks from Sara’s sisters in Milwaukee. Since it had been years since Sara and Steve ran against eachother the race was on.
Steve went out strong with Sara doing her usual watch and wait. The start was a really fast downhill into the parkway which made the first mile blazing but then the work began to maintain. Sara held her pace and when she moved on Steve late in the second mile she had him; but not by much. They both put in great times – Kari around 18:50, Sara around 19:50 and Steve in the early 20’s.
This brought us to Tosafest with the bands and the food and the end of our Wisconsin journey. What a great week of fun with family and friends, we didn’t want it to end; but California was calling us again.
