Today was our travel day to Zion national park, the drive was uneventful and the scenery became better as we got closer to Springdale, UT where we are staying this weekend. We are traveling with our friend Kara and her friend Jim.
The condo’s we are staying at is really awesome called the Cable Mountain Lodge. We have a kitchenette, living room and it is literally across the street from the park. We arrived around 4PM put our stuff down and went directly into the park. We jumped the first bus we saw and took it to the end of the line to take a really easy hike called the River Walk.
It was a really flat trail that goes into the canyons along the virgin river. The canyon walls are red and black rock and water is constantly running down the walls so there is hanging vegetation on the walls.
After darkness came we took the bus back to the condo and went to a great Thai restaurant steps away from where we are staying and had some great Pad Thai and Yellow Curry dishes. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
