Idaho Adventure Land – Golfing & Archery

posted in: Travel, Uncategorized | 0

Miriam and Dale picked us up from the airport and we drove through the plains of wheat fields and following the rivers up into the mountains to their beautiful home among the pines. They have neighbors but there is a healthy buffer of land between them for the animals to bed down in..

See that trailer that was home sweet home for Sara and I for sleeping because of my cat allergy, it was sweeeet

Front entrance with nice deck.

Front of their house overlooking the hillside

After we got settled it was time to get out on the golf course. Mimi and Dale have their own golf cart which is stored in this sweet building at the course.

This was literally the first time that Sara golfed and after a couple of holes she was hitting the irons pretty good..

Mimi and Dale of course put us to shame however I did ok with my 9 iron and on the green.

Golfing was fun but the next “ing” we were really excited about, especially with all the hipe about that girl in hunger games and her bow..it was time to go to the archery range.

and Sara and Dale were ready to go….

This was no ordinary range. Instead of shooting at targets in a clearing this range has 40 marked targets in the woods along a path with markers that tell you about the target.

Sara and I were using Mimi’s bow which was way easier to pull back, but just as leathal. Sighting was the hardest thing to get use to, but when you get it man is it accurate…

This was one of the coolest target shoots we saw. You climb up this path with steps into the side of the hill to this platform in the tree’s….

You stand on the platform on a raised area to setup and aim your bow….

And then you shoot at the target waaaaaaaay doooooown there… It does a great job simulating what it would be like to be hunting in a tree stand.

By the way Sara had a really bad then a really great shot on this one…

Dale and Mimi were so gracious and patient with introducing us to these fun sports we will be ready for them next time.
