If you think that you can’t be pulled over for running you are sadly mistaken. Today Sara and I had another first in our lives and that being pulled over by a (stationary) motorcycle Orange County Sheriff while we were running in the bike lane in Laguna Niguel. For any of you who know the area we were running up the hill in the bike lane by the Fire Station on Golden Lantern.
The motorcycle cop was parked in the driveway by the Fire Station and motioned for us to stop by him. He cited both of us with CVL 21966 – Pedestrian in Bike Lane. We kept our mouths shut, and did not share with him that we have been running in bike lanes for over 20 years. From what we have found the ticket is $99.00 so that brings our 6 mile run fee to $16.50 per mile, it was a good run but not that good – Ha!
We are just doing our part to help Orange County meet their deficit crisis – 😉
